Here is a festive treat for the holidays that the lucky recipient can cook whenever the mood strikes.

Cranberry Pecan Cookie Mix

2/3 cup (160 ml) dried cranberries
1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped pecans
1/2 cup (125 ml) dark brown sugar
1 cup (250 ml) biscuit mix
1/2 cup (125 ml) light brown sugar
1 cup (250 ml) biscuit mix

Layer the ingredients in a 1-quart (1 L) glass jar in the order listed.
Attach a gift card with the following instructions:

Beat 8 Tbs (125 ml) butter, 1 egg, and 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract in a
bowl until well mixed. Stir in the cranberry pecan cookie mix and form
into 1-inch (3 cm) balls. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake in a
preheated 375F (190C) oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
 Cool on a wire rack.
