Irene DiCaprio writes, "Here's an oldie, but I always like seeing it as
it reminds me that I'm not the only one who forgets names!"

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house. After eating,
the wives left the table and went into the kitchen. As the two men were
talking, one said, "Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it
was really great. I would recommend it very highly."

The other man said, "What is the name of the restaurant?"

The first man thought and thought and finally said, "What is the name of
that flower you give to someone you love? You know, the one that's red
and has thorns."

"Do you mean a rose?"

"Yes, that's the one", replied the man. He then turned towards the
kitchen and yelled, "Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?"

My sources don't say where this drink gets its name, but the combination
of strawberries and ginger makes an interesting and unexpected flavor contrast.

Center Court

1/2 lb (225 g) strawberries, hulled
1 cup (250 ml) heavy cream, half-and-half, or milk
2 Tbs (10 ml) sugar or honey
1/2 tsp (2 ml) ground ginger
Ice cubes
1 quart (1 L) club soda

Combine the strawberries, cream, sugar, and ginger in an electric
blender and puree until smooth. Pour into a pitcher and add the ice
cubes and club soda, stirring to mix.
Serves 4 to 6.
