"Dear Alice"*
*Just Ask Alice:
Alice Wickheimer of Jester Hill offers insight into
your day-to-day traumas:
Dear Alice:
I know it's only August, but already I'm dreading
the start of school this fall. My friends tell me not
to worry and to enjoy my summer vacation, but I
can't. The only thing I'm looking forward to about
school is flirting with all the pretty girls and
sneaking a smoke in the restroom.
-Scared of School-
Dear Scared:
Try really hard to follow your friends' advice and
enjoy the time you have away from school. If you
really can't stand the thought of going back, look
for another profession. Teaching isn't for everyone.
-Alice-

"Loitering"*
*
A rookie police officer was assigned to ride in
a cruiser with an experienced partner. A call
came over the car's radio telling them to disperse
some people who were loitering. The officers drove
to the street and observed a small crowd standing on a corner.
The rookie rolled down his window and said, "Let's get off the corner."
No one moved, so he barked again, "Let's get off the corner!"
Intimidated, the group of people began to leave,
casting puzzled glances in his direction.
Proud of his first official act, the young policeman turned to his
partner and asked,
"Well, how did I do?"
"Pretty good," replied the veteran, "especially since this is a bus stop."
