"The Spoon"

I was at a restaurant recently and I noticed that the
waiter had a spoon in his breast pocket. Then I noticed
that all of the waiters had spoons in their breast pockets.
My curiosity got the best of me, "Excuse me, I said, but
I have noticed all of the waiters have spoons in there
pockets, is there a reason for this?"

"Oh yes," replies the waiter, "recently we found out that
to improve our efficiency of our service, if we carry a spoon
with us, if you drop your spoon, then we don't have to run
back and forth to the kitchen to get a clean one. After we
give you a spoon we replace the one in our pocket."

This seemed reasonable, so I decided to see if it really
worked. I knocked my spoon off of the table and a
DIFFERENT waiter soon showed up at my table. He
proceeded to hand me a "clean" spoon. He then went
and replaced his spoon. When the younger waiter that
replaced my spoon walked by again, I noticed a string
hanging from the zipper tied to the man's privates.

I asked the waiter about the string, he replied, " In a time
study it shows that the waiters spend to much time washing
their hands and that if we tie a string to our privates then we
don't even have to touch it, therefore saving us the time it
takes to wash our hands."

"Interesting, I reply, but when you are finished how do you
put it back?"

The waiter replied, "I don't know about the others but
personally, I use the spoon."
