Italian-Style Pepper Steak
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep Time: 15 min. - Cook Time: 25 min.
1 lb. boneless beef sirloin OR top round steak, 3/4" thick
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 medium green pepper OR red pepper, cut into strips
1 medium onion, sliced
1/4 tsp. garlic powder OR 2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups Prego(R) Traditional Pasta Sauce
2 cups hot cooked spaghetti
Directions:
SLICE beef into thin strips.
HEAT 1 tbsp. oil in skillet. Add beef and cook until browned and
juices evaporate, stirring often. Remove beef.
HEAT remaining oil. Add pepper, onion and garlic and cook until
tender, stirring often.
STIR in pasta sauce. Heat to a boil. Return beef to skillet. Heat
through. Serve over spaghetti. Serves 4.
To make slicing easier, freeze beef 1 hr.

Serve a platter of crudites--sliced cucumber, carrot, celery and cherry
tomatoes--instead of a salad, and slice a loaf of Italian bread. Scoop
vanilla ice cream for dessert and top with juice from a jar of
maraschino cherries.
