Quick Pepper Steak
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep/Cook Time: 25 min.
1 lb. boneless beef sirloin steak, 3/4" thick*
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
3 cups green pepper OR red pepper strips, 2" long
1 medium onion, cut into wedges
1 can (10 1/2 oz.) Franco-American(R) Beef Gravy
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
4 cups hot cooked rice
Directions:
SLICE beef into very thin strips.
HEAT 1 tbsp. oil in skillet. Add beef and stir-fry until browned and
juices evaporate. Remove beef.
HEAT remaining oil. Add peppers and onion and cook until tender-crisp.
Return beef to skillet.
ADD gravy, Worcestershire and garlic. Heat through. Serve over rice.
Serves 4.
*To make slicing easier, freeze beef 1 hr.
Kitchen Clip:
Beef is easy to thinly slice if slightly frozen. Put in freezer one hour
or take solid-frozen steak from freezer and let stand at room
temperature while slicing peppers and onions and setting table, about 20
minutes.
