Start the year with this "souper" easy and delicious chili made with
Campbell's Tomato Soup--just right for New Year's Day football viewing
or a warming supper!
Souper Chili
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep Time: 10 min. - Cook Time: 25 min.
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 small green pepper, chopped
1/8 tsp. garlic powder OR 1 clove garlic, minced
2 cans (10 3/4 oz. each ) Campbell's(R) Tomato Soup
1 can Campbell's(R) Bean with Bacon Soup
1 1/2 cups Pace(R) Chunky Salsa OR Pace(R) Picante Sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1 can (about 8 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained
1 cup uncooked wheel-shaped pasta OR elbow pasta
Shredded Cheddar cheese
Sliced green onion
Directions:
COOK beef, onion, pepper and garlic in saucepot until beef is browned.
Pour off fat.
ADD soups, salsa, water and corn. Heat to a boil. Cover and cook over
low heat 10 min.
STIR in pasta. Cover and cook 10 min. or until pasta is done. Top with
cheese and green onions. Serves 6.
Kitchen Clip:
Use a sharp knife and a stable work surface when chopping the onion. To
chop, halve the onion, from the top to the root. Place the cut sides
down and cut in narrow slices from the top to the root. Hold the slices
together and slice narrowly across them.
