Kitchen Clip:
Though a combination of chile peppers and oregano used for seasoning can
be traced back to the ancient Aztecs, today's commercial chili powders,
using a variety of spices such as dried chiles, cumin, oregano, garlic,
cloves and coriander, are said to have been created by early Texans.
You'll find standard blends at most supermarkets, or check specialty
food stores for regional or special blends.
