stove-top casserole your family will love!
Tomato Bisque Casserole
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep/Cook Time 20 min.
1 box (16 oz.) corkscrew pasta
2 tbsp. butter OR margarine
1/2 large onion, chopped
2 tsp. minced garlic
2 lb. ground beef
1/4 tsp. anise seed, crushed OR fennel seed, crushed
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
2 cans Campbell's(R) Tomato Bisque Soup
2/3 cup half-and-half
3 slices American cheese, cut up
6 fresh basil leaves, finely shredded
grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
COOK anise seed or fennel seed
MEANWHILE heat butter in saucepot. Add onion and garlic and cook until
tender. Add beef, anise and ginger. Cook until beef is browned. Drain
off fat.
ADD soup, half-and-half, American cheese and basil. Heat to a boil.
Cook over low heat 5 min.
STIR in drained pasta. Serve with Parmesan cheese. Serves 8.
Kitchen Clip:
Four cloves of garlic will yield 2 tsp. minced garlic. You can also
substitute 1/2 tsp. garlic powder or 2 tsp. garlic flakes.
