Here's a little-known food fact from Rosemary Zwick:

Did you know that a tree can grow inside a person? If you accidentally
swallow an orange seed, it will grow in your stomach. Then it'll pop out
your belly button. That's where we get navel oranges.

Think of this as guacamole with a Middle Eastern accent.

Yogurt and Avocado Dip

1 large or 2 small avocados, pitted and peeled
1 scallion (spring onion), green and white parts, finely chopped
1/2 cup (125 ml) plain yogurt
1 Tbs (15 ml) chopped fresh mint leaves
1 tsp (5 ml) grated lemon zest
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Mash the avocado with a fork in a small bowl. Add the remaining
ingredients and mix well. Serve with potato or tortilla chips, crackers, or raw vegetables.
Serves 4 to 6.
