Here's another good one from Anna Welander:

Mensa is an organization whose members have an IQ of 140 or higher. A
few years ago, there was a Mensa convention in San Francisco, and
several members lunched at a local cafe. While dining they discovered
that their saltshaker contained pepper and their pepper shaker was full
of salt. How could they swap the contents of the bottles without
spilling, and using only the implements at hand? Clearly this was a job for Mensa!

The group debated and presented ideas, and finally came up with a
brilliant solution involving a napkin, a straw, and an empty saucer.
They called the waitress over to dazzle her with their solution.

"Ma'am," they said, "we couldn't help but notice that the pepper shaker
contains salt and the salt shaker..."

"Oh," the waitress interrupted. "Sorry about that." She unscrewed the
caps of both bottles and switched them.

             TODAY'S RECIPE

Canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce are available in most
supermarkets these days, but if you can't find them use any hot chili
powder instead. Cocoa powder, a well-known "secret" ingredient in many
chili recipes, contributes a subtle bitterness here.

Chipotle and Bean Chili

1 Tbs (15 ml) olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2-4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 red bell pepper (capsicum), cored, seeded, and chopped
1 green bell pepper (capsicum), cored, seeded, and chopped
2 15-oz cans (425 g each) red kidney or other beans, rinsed and drained
1 15-oz can (425 g) tomatoes with their liquid
1 cup (250 ml) beef or chicken stock or water
1-2 chipotle peppers in adobo, finely chopped
2 Tbs (30 ml) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Tbs (15 ml) brown sugar
1 tsp (5 ml) dried oregano
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Heat the oil in a large pot and saute the onion, garlic, and bell
peppers until tender but not brown, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining
ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer covered for 30 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6.
