            FOOD FUNNY

Thanks to the jillion or so readers who sent me cartoons featuring
Maxine. I now know more about her than I know about most things.

And here's a food funny from Janet in Iowa who says, "I know, it's
really bad":

A well-known chef bought several cases of carp. Endeavoring to
create a new signature dish, he tried combining herbs and spices
with shortening but found that the cooking time had to be exact.
So when the chef received a phone call during the dinner hour, he
had to cut it short, explaining, "I left my carp in saffron Crisco."

Here's a super easy recipe that produces super tasty treats.

Sesame Cheese Chips

Swiss, Monterey Jack, or Cheddar cheese, cut into
1/2-inch (2 cm) cubes
Sesame seeds

Roll the cheese cubes in the sesame seeds to coat them thoroughly.
Place on parchment or wax paper about 2 inches (5 cm) apart and
microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, turning every 30 seconds, until
the cheese has melted and is bubbling. Let cool until firm and remove
from the paper. Repeat with remaining cheese cubes using the same
paper.
