             FOOD FUNNY

Here's a true (?) food funny from "ML8ML82":

When I was in the service I was walking behind newlyweds pushing a
shopping cart full of TV dinners, nothing but TV dinners. He was
pushing the cart with his left hand and she with her right hand, both
hugging each other as they walked. He asked his new wife, "What's for
dinner tonight, sweetheart?" She said, "Do you mind if we go out to
eat? I don't feel like cooking."

             TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________

Here is a quick and easy soup which, like the rest of our recipes this
week, can easily be multiplied to feed more than one.

Artichoke Soup for One

1 1/4 cup (310 ml) chicken stock
1 scallion (spring onion), thinly sliced
1 tsp (5 ml) lemon juice
3 cooked artichoke hearts, fresh, frozen, or canned,
cut into bite-sized pieces
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
2 Tbs (30 ml) heavy cream

Bring the stock, scallion, and lemon juice to a boil over high heat.
Add the remaining ingredients and return to the boil, stirring
occasionally. Serves 1.
