I suspect this was originally one of those jokes about a person of a
certain hair color, but reader Sarah from Southern Minnesota was kind
enough to remove all such references.
A new young bride calls her mother in tears. She sobs, "Robert
doesn't appreciate what I do for him."
"Now, now," her mother comforted, "I am sure it was all just a
misunderstanding."
"No, mother," the young woman laments. "I bought a frozen turkey loaf
and he yelled at me about the price."
"Well, that is being miserly," the mother agreed, "Those turkey rolls
are only a few dollars."
"No, mother it wasn't the price of the turkey roll, it was the
airplane ticket."
"Airplane ticket... What did you need an airplane ticket for?"
"Well mother, when I went to fix it, I looked at the directions on the
back and it said, 'PREPARE FROM A FROZEN STATE,' so I flew to Alaska."

Here's a little taste of the Caribbean. Try using this to make your
next Pina Colada, or sip it straight or on the rocks. However you
serve it, don't forget the little umbrellas.
Pineapple Liqueur
3/4 cup (180 ml) sugar
1 liter bottle white rum or vodka
1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and chopped or
1 1/2 cups (375 ml) canned unsweetened pineapple, drained
3 Tbs (45 ml) crushed fresh mint leaves
A 2-inch (5 cm) piece of cinnamon stick
Combine the sugar and rum (reserve the empty bottle) in a large glass
jar and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the pineapple, mint, and
cinnamon stick and store loosely covered in a cool, dark place for 2
to 3 weeks. Strain through cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel and
return the liquid to the bottle. Makes about 4 cups (1 L).
