::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: FOOD FUNNY :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Today's food funny comes from Anna in Maryland.
A hungry lion was roaming through the jungle looking for something to
eat. He came across two men. One was sitting under a tree reading a
book and the other was typing away on his laptop computer.
The lion quickly pounced on the man reading the book and devoured him.
Even the king of the jungle knows that readers digest and writers
cramp.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::: TODAY'S RECIPE ::::::::::::::::::::::::::
We talk about being "as cool as a cucumber," and cucumbers are indeed
refreshing on hot summer days. What could be more refreshing than
cucumbers and sour cream? Serve this at your next outdoor event and
your guests will wish you had made a bigger batch.
Polish Cucumbers in Sour Cream
4 cucumbers, cut in quarters lengthwise,
then cut into small wedges
1 cup (250 ml) sour cream
1 Tbs (15 ml) chopped fresh chives
2 Tbs (30 ml) chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and toss to combine. Serves 4 to 6.
