"Unbelievable Math Problem"

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will
stump you. It's incredible!

1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this
one in your head) Do the calculations carefully as
one little mistake will negate the outcome.

2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number
(NOT the area code)

3. Multiply by 80

4. Add 1

5. Multiply by 250

6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number

7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.

8. Subtract 250

9. Divide number by 2.

Do you recognize the answer?

"Not So Unbelievable Math Problem"

The more you look at it the less unbelievable
it becomes:

If you write down the algebraic equation of what
is happening in each step, you will see what
this is doing.

It ends up multiplying the first three digits XXX
of your phone number by 10,000 (so as to shift
it over four decimal places), then merely adds
the remaining four digits YYYY and voila, the
result is your phone number XXXYYYY !

Cool, eh? Some people have way too much time
on their hands...
