"The Poem"

A professor asked a student to remain for
a few moments after class. Holding out the
young man's assignment, the professor said,
"Did you write this poem all by yourself?"

The student said, "Every word of it."

The professor said, "Well, then, I'm glad to
meet you, Mr. Poe. I thought you were long
dead."

"What A Tan Means"

I attended Palm Beach Atlantic College in Florida.
It's only about a mile from the ocean, so students
frequently go to the beach, even between classes.
One day I was meeting with our dean, when he
stopped me in the middle of our conversation and
asked if I was an "A" student.

Puzzled, I replied, "Mostly, why do you ask?"

"You don't have a tan," he explained. "Around here,
the darker the tan, the lower the grade."

"Saving Lifes"

One day our physics professor was discussing
a particularly complicated concept. A pre-med
student rudely interrupted to ask "Why do I have
to learn this stuff? I'm pre-med, I'll never need it."

"You'll need it to save lives." the professor
responded quickly.

"So, how does physics save lives?" the student
persisted.

"It keeps the ignoramuses out of medical school,"
replied the professor.
