"Omitted"
My appointment as pastor coincided with the
church's appeal for aid for victims of a hurricane.
Unfortunately, on my first Sunday in the parish,
the center page of the church bulletin was
accidentally omitted. So members of the
congregation read from the bottom of the
second page to the top of the last page:
"Welcome to the Rev. Andrew Jensen and his
family...the worst disaster to hit the area in this
century. The full extent of the tragedy is not yet
known."

"Educational Psychologist"
On a flight to Florida, I was preparing my notes for
one of the parent-education seminars I conduct as
an educational psychologist. Bessie, elderly woman
sitting next to me explained that she was returning
to Miami after having spent two weeks visiting her
six children, 18 grandchildren and ten great-
grandchildren in Boston.
Then she inquired what I did for a living. I explained
I was a doctor psychologist specializing in children.
I told her, fully expecting her to question me for free
professional advice during the 3 hour flight. Instead
she sat back, and picked up a magazine. Bessie
said...
"So doctor......If there's anything you want to know,
just ask me."
