A UN arranged Christmas prisoner exchange was
completed today when the Mexican Border Patrol
handed over Joseph Dinkerton, an American citizen,
who was captured in July, 2001 trying to sneak into
Mexico.
In exchange the INS handed over 220,236 illegal
Mexican citizens apprehended last week by the
US Border Patrol.
This Christmas prisoner exchange was observed
by "Human Rights Watch," whose spokesman said,
"This will go a long way to reduce future border
infractions between the USA and Mexico."
