This isn't your ordinary burger! These Stroganoff Burgers take
hamburgers uptown with creamy mushroom sauce laced with sour cream, and
bagels in place of buns. Think of it as fancy without the fuss.
Burgers Stroganoff
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep Time: 10 min. Cook Time: 30 min.
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's(R) Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
(Regular or 98% Fat Free)
2 tbsp. ketchup
1/3 cup sour cream
6 bagels, split
Directions:
Shape the beef into 6 (1/2-inch thick) burgers.
Cook the burgers in batches in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat
until well browned on both sides. Remove the burgers from the skillet.
Pour off any fat.
Stir the soup and ketchup in the skillet and heat to a boil. Return the
burgers to the skillet. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 10
minutes or until the burgers are cooked though.
Stir in the sour cream. Serve the burgers and sauce on the bagels. Serves 6.
Kitchen Clip:
The burgers can be shaped and frozen individually for make-ahead
convenience. Wrap them well in plastic freezer wrap, then just pull out
the number of patties you need and allow them to thaw---they'll defrost
faster than a pound of ground beef.
