supper tonight.
Beef and Cornbread Bake
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep Time: 15 min. - Bake Time: 30 min.
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves, crushed
3/4 cup Pace(R) Picante Sauce
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (about 16 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 pkg. (about 8 oz.) corn muffin mix
Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 375°F.
COOK beef and oregano in skillet until browned. Pour off fat.
ADD picante sauce, tomato sauce and corn. Heat through. Stir in
cheese. Pour into 2-qt. shallow baking dish.
PREPARE corn muffin mix according to pkg. directions. Spread over beef mixture.
BAKE 25 to 30 min. or until crust is golden brown. Let stand 10 min. Serves 6.
Kitchen Clip:
To shave minutes off prep time, purchase prebrowned ground beef, stir
together in baking dish with oregano, Pace(R), tomato sauce, corn and
cheese. Top with corn muffin mixture and bake as directed.
