FOOD FUNNY
__________________________________________________
Here's a new one from Rosemary Zwick:
Lisa came up behind her husband while he was eating his breakfast of
bacon and eggs and slapped him on the back of the head. "Ow!" Larry
exclaimed. "What was that for?"
"I found a piece of paper in your trouser pants with the name 'Mary Lou'
written on it," she said angrily. "You better have a good explanation!"
"Calm down, honey," Larry said. "I was at the dog track last week and
that was the name of the dog I bet on."
Later that same day when Larry came home for lunch, Lisa walked up to
her husband and smacked him hard on the forehead. "What the heck was
that for?" he demanded.
"Your dog just called."

TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________
This vintage recipe shows that some things haven't changed a whole lot
in 100 years. It's as modern and sophisticated as anything to be found
today.
Cauliflower a la Parmesan
whole cauliflower
2 Tbs (30 ml) butter, melted
1/4 cup (60 ml) bread crumbs
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1/4 cup (60 ml) grated Parmesan cheese
Boil or steam the cauliflower until tender. Drain and place on an
oven-proof serving dish. Mix the melted butter, bread crumbs, salt, and
pepper together and sprinkle over the cauliflower. Sprinkle with the
grated cheese and heat under the broiler until the crumbs are lightly
browned and the cheese is bubbling.
Serves 4 to 6.
