FOOD FUNNY

Here's a good one from Anna Welander:
A guy dashes into a psychiatrist's office, throws himself on the couch
and says, "Doc, ya gotta help me. I think I'm a biscuit. What do you
think?"
The doctor strokes his chin thoughtfully and asks, "Are you square?"
"Yes."
"Do you have lots of little holes?"
"Yes! Yes!"
"And are you covered all over with a light sprinkling of salt?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes!"
"Then you're not a biscuit, you're crackers!"

TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________
According to Mr. Mariani, the daiquiri cocktail was invented in the
Cuban town of Daiquiri sometime around 1900 and was brought to the
United States by a US Naval officer who introduced it to Washington's
Army and Navy Club around 1909. Many variations exist today, including
frozen pureed fruit concoctions that more closely resemble milkshakes
than the original, classic cocktail. This is how they made them back in
the good old days:
All recipes this week are adapted from "The Encyclopedia of American
Food and Drink: With More Than 500 Recipes for American Classics" by
John Mariani
Classic Daiquiri
For each drink:
2 oz (1/4 cup, 60 ml) light rum
2 tsp (10 ml) lime juice
1/2 tsp (2 ml) powdered (confectioner's) sugar
Crushed ice
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, shake, and pour into a
chilled cocktail glass. The rim of the glass may be rubbed with lime
juice and dipped in sugar prior to pouring in the daiquiri if desired.
Serves 1.
