Here's something to think about from lifetime subscriber Jane Cadman:

We should be ashamed. We've eaten so many billions of Buffalo wings that
many children today have never seen a buffalo fly.

            TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________

This is a recipe of my own creation and I have given it as a gift for years.

Anise-Pepper Liqueur

1 quart (1 L) vodka
2/3 cups sugar (or to taste)
6 whole star anise (available in finer supermarkets and Asian specialty shops)
8 whole black peppercorns, crushed

Combine all ingredients in a large bottle or glass jar. Let sit in a
cool, dark location for 5 to 7 days, or longer. Taste daily, and when
flavor has reached desired level of intensity strain and bottle.
Makes 1 quart (1 L).
