FOOD FUNNY

Here's a real groaner from Rosemary Zwick:
While rotating German sausages on the barbecue spit, the host of the
party tripped and fell into the grill, burning himself severely. When
one of his guests phoned the hospital to ask the nurse about his
condition, she replied, "He's not doing so well right now. He took a
turn for the wurst."
After a slight pause, she smiled and said, "Well, my sister is pregnant
now."

TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________
One of my favorite ways to end a meal is with a good cheese, walnuts,
and port wine. It's also an excellent way to start a meal.
Port Wine Cheese Spread
8 oz (225 g) cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup (125 ml) sour cream
Salt to taste
A pinch of cayenne pepper
1/4 cup (60 ml) port wine
2 Tbs (30 ml) butter, melted
1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped walnuts
Combine the cheddar cheese, sour cream, salt, and cayenne pepper in a
bowl and beat with a wooden spoon until smooth. Add the wine and butter,
stirring until combined. Pack the mixture into one or two serving bowls
and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Cover with plastic wrap and
refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight. Serve with assorted crackers.
Makes about 2 cups (500 ml).
