Here's a real groaner from Anna Welander:
This company had a real superior product in its butter substitute, but
the company went under when it received an order for a million pounds of
the stuff. Some of the employees made mistakes in preparing the product
and much of it was wasted. They were not able to deliver in time. The
company had not allowed enough margarine for error.

TODAY'S RECIPES

This dessert, which is reminiscent of rice and tapioca puddings,
is popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa. It is
frequently served with a sugar syrup scented with rose water,
but I prefer this healthier version.
Seffa (Couscous Pudding)
2 cups (500 ml) couscous, cooked according to package directions
4 Tbs (60 ml) butter
3/4 cup (180 ml) raisins and/or chopped dried fruits such as apricots and dates, soaked in warm water for 15 minutes
1/4 cup honey or sugar, or to taste
1/2 tsp (2 ml) ground cinnamon
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir gently to combine.
Serve warm, chilled, or at room temperature.
Serves 4 to 6.

You won't find many desserts easier or healthier than this one.
Make a double batch and keep some on hand for a healthy
snack food.
Dried Fruits with Nuts
2 lbs (900 g) assorted dried fruits
1/2 lb (225 g) blanched almonds
1/4 cup (60 ml) pine nuts
2 cups (500 ml) orange, apple, or white grape juice, or water
1 tsp (5 ml) ground cinnamon
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and add water to cover the fruits
by about 2 inches (5 cm). Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or
overnight, stirring occasionally.
Serves 6 to 8.
