            FOOD FUNNY

Thanks to Eric Storm of Sacramento, California for this true food
funny:

My daughters were spending the day with their Grandparents and, as
Grandparents often do, they stopped at a fast food place for lunch.
Natalie, our 3-year-old, announced that she wanted a Happy Meal. Her
Grandmother reminded her that they were at Taco Bell and they didn't
have Happy Meals. Nat thought for a minute and then asked, "So what
do they have here? Sad Meals?"

            TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________

Most of the Thanksgiving leftovers are gone (along with your visiting
relatives), and things are back to normal... almost. If you're like me,
you'll appreciate a reprieve from kitchen duties while you recover
from the hectic pace of the holiday. Here is a selection of recipes
that require almost no preparation or cooking - just the thing for the
week after Thanksgiving, don't you think?

Monday's Starter
Shrimp with Lemon Horseradish Sauce

Tuesday's Soup or Salad
Tomato and Orange Consomme

Wednesday's Side Dish
Baked Potatoes with Blue Cheese

Thursday's Entree
Broiled Ham Steak with Raspberry Mustard Glaze

Friday's Dessert
Bananas Norma

This dish requires no more effort than a little chopping and a little
mixing with a spoon if you use frozen cooked shrimp.

Shrimp with Lemon Horseradish Sauce

1 lb (450 g) cooked, peeled shrimp
1/4 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise
2 Tbs (30 ml) prepared horseradish, or to taste
2 Tbs (30 ml) fresh lemon juice, or to taste
2 Tbs (30 ml) finely chopped fresh parsley, chives, dill,
or fresh herb of your choice
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Arrange the shrimp attractively on a serving platter or individual
plates. Combine the remaining ingredients in a small bowl, stirring
to combine. Spoon over the shrimp and serve chilled. Serves 4 to 6.
