Thanks again to Rosemary Zwick of Cape Town, South Africa for this
one:

Six months after a waiter died his widow went to see a medium who
promised she would contact the man in the great beyond. During the
seance, the widow was sure she saw her husband standing in the corner,
dressed in his waiter's outfit. "Arnold!" she cried. "Come closer
and speak to me!"

A ghostly voice drifted from the corner. "I can't. It's not my table."

            TODAY'S RECIPE

I love nuts. I suppose you could say I'm nuts for nuts. For several
years they were blacklisted by nutritionists because of their high fat
content, but as we learn more we realize that the many health benefits
of eating nuts outweigh the fat consideration. Here is a week of
recipes based around these savory little morsels:

Monday's Starter
Walnut and Gorgonzola Canapes

Tuesday's Soup or Salad
Caponata with Olives and Pine Nuts

Wednesday's Side Dish
Asparagus with Hazelnut Vinaigrette

Thursday's Entree
Salmon with Buttered Almonds

Friday's Dessert
Chocolate Pecan Pie

These little bites provide a symphony of flavors and textures.

Walnut and Gorgonzola Canapes

Small crackers or rounds of bread
Crumbled gorgonzola or other good quality blue cheese
Walnut halves
Honey

Arrange the crackers on a baking sheet and sprinkle with the crumbled
cheese. Top each with a walnut half and bake in a preheated 400F
(200C) oven until the cheese begins to melt, about 5 minutes. Remove
from the oven and drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.
