Here's another rib tickler from Lillian Toka:

A businessman had a tiring day on the road. He checked into a hotel
and, because he was concerned that the dining room might close soon,
left his luggage at the front desk and went immediately to eat. After
a leisurely dinner, he reclaimed his luggage and realized that he had
forgotten his room number. He went back to the desk and told the
clerk on duty, "My name is Henry Davis. Could you please tell me what
room I am in?"

"Certainly," said the clerk. "You're in the lobby."

Here is a spicy alternative to the common cole slaw.

Spicy Slaw

2 Tbs (30 ml) Dijon mustard
1 Tbs (15 ml) cider vinegar
1 Tbs (15 ml) honey
1/2 tsp (2 ml) hot sauce, or to taste
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1/4 cup (60 ml) olive oil
4 cups (1 L) shredded cabbage
2 scallions (spring onions), green and white parts,
thinly sliced
1 tsp (5 ml) celery seed

Combine the mustard, vinegar, honey, hot sauce, salt, and pepper in a
large bowl. Add the oil in a thin stream, whisking constantly. Add
the remaining ingredients, tossing to combine. Refrigerate covered
for at least 1 hour before serving. Serves 4 to 6.
