Thanks to reader Helen Dritsas in Greece who was the first of about a
jillion people to send me this one:

While attending a marriage seminar on communication, David and his
wife, Gina listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential that
husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other."
He addressed the man, "Can you describe your wife's favorite flower?"
David leaned over, touched his wife, Gina's arm gently and whispered,
"Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"

             TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________

To tell the truth, this salad is just as good made with grapefruit,
tangerines, or blood oranges. Use whatever is fresh and good at your
market.

Jicama and Orange Salad

1 jicama, peeled and cut into small cubes or julienne strips
The juice of 1 orange
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
2 oranges, peeled and sectioned
Dash of cayenne pepper, or to taste (optional)
4 Tbs (60 ml) chopped fresh cilantro (coriander leaves)

Toss the jicama with the orange juice, salt, and pepper. Marinate
refrigerated for 1 hour to overnight. Add the remaining ingredients,
tossing to combine, and serve chilled or at room temperature. Serves
4 to 6.
