Here are a few from Last Morsel editor Barbara Forsythe, who sent
them to me with no comment other than "groan."

What did the chocolate syrup say to the ice cream?
"I'm sweet on you!"

Why did the cannibal break up with his girlfriend?
She didn't suit his taste!

What did one pickle say to the other?
"You mean a great dill to me."

             TODAY'S RECIPE

Today's recipe is even more of an indulgence because of the price of
filets mignons. Save this recipe for special occasion like having the
boss over for dinner, or as a special reward for someone who deserves
a very special treat.

Filets Mignons with Bacon and Blue Cheese

For each serving:
1 slice bacon
1 filet mignon, cut about 2 inches (5 cm) thick
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1/4 cup (60 ml) crumbled blue cheese

Fry the bacon in a skillet over high heat until almost crisp. Drain
on paper towels and wrap around the side of the filet mignon,
attaching the ends with a toothpick. Season the filet with salt and
pepper and saute in a little bacon grease until browned on both sides.
Transfer to a preheated 450F (230C) oven and roast to an internal
temperature of 125F (50C) for medium rare, about 8 to 10 minutes. Top
with the blue cheese and roast until the cheese begins to melt. Allow
to rest at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving.
