Here's a good one from reader Amber Kuehn:

Jack and George were lunching at a local restaurant, and Jack was
wrestling with the problem of whether or not to butter his bread. "I
like butter on my bread," he said. "But my diet strictly forbids
butter. Maybe I should call my wife Mary and ask her what to do."

"Jack," George said, "don't be ridiculous. You're a grown man. You
should be able to decide whether or not to butter your own bread."

"You're right," Jack said. "I'll just have the butter, that's all."
When the waiter arrived with the check, George pointed to Jack and
said, "He's paying."

"What?" Jack said. "Why should I have to pay the whole bill?"

"Because if you don't," George said, "I'll tell Mary about the
butter."

Here is a variation on the classic New England lobster roll for those
of us who find shrimp easier on the budget.

Shrimp Rolls

2 cups (500 ml) coarsely chopped cooked shrimp
1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
1/4 cup (60 ml) mayonnaise
1 Tbs (15 ml) chopped chives
1 tsp (5 ml) grated lemon rind
1/2 tsp (2 ml) curry powder
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Cayenne pepper or hot sauce to taste (optional)
6 frankfurter rolls, split, toasted, and buttered

Combine all ingredients except the frankfurter rolls and divide among
the hot rolls. Makes 6 sandwiches.
