FOOD FUNNY

Thanks to reader Sharona for this one:
A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she selected a
quart of milk, a carton of eggs, a quart of orange juice, and a
one-pound package of bacon. As she was unloading her items on the
conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind her watched as she
placed the items in front of the cashier. He said, "You must be
single."
The woman, a bit startled but intrigued by the derelict's intuition,
looked at her four items on the belt. Seeing nothing particularly
unusual about her selections she said, "Well, you know what, you're
absolutely right. But how on earth did you know that?"
The drunk said, "Cause you're uglier'n sin."

TODAY'S RECIPE
__________________________________________________
I have often told foreign friends that they haven't tasted a real
cheeseburger until they have tasted a real, all-American, homemade
cheeseburger - I'm afraid that they will confuse the product sold by
burger mega-chains with the real thing. Here's the real thing, with a
twist. Frankly, you can substitute any cheese you like in this
recipe. I just happen to like blue cheese. And please note that this
recipe makes big ol' burgers - just the way they're supposed to be.
Blue Cheeseburgers
2 lbs (900 g) ground beef (preferably chuck)
1 cup (250 ml) crumbled blue cheese, or grated
cheese of your choice
1/4 cup (60 ml) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 Tbs (30 ml) Worcestershire or soy sauce
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
4-6 toasted hamburger buns or Kaiser rolls
Mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, sliced pickles,
sliced tomatoes, lettuce leaves, crisp bacon,
and any other fixings you enjoy
Combine all ingredients and mix together gently using fingers or a
large fork. Form into 4 to 6 patties about 6 inches (15 cm) in
diameter. Grill over hot coals or saute in a skillet over high heat
until done to the desired degree. Place on the toasted rolls and
allow the diners to add condiments as desired. Serves 4 to 6.
