::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: FOOD FUNNY :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Thanks to reader Carrie Gascoigne, from somewhere in Eastern Canada,
for today's food funny.

The teacher of the earth science class was lecturing on map reading.
After explaining about latitude, longitude, degrees and minutes the
teacher asked, "Suppose I asked you to meet me for lunch at 23
degrees, 4 minutes north latitude and 45 degrees, 15 minutes east
longitude?"

After a confused silence, a voice volunteered, "I guess you'd be
eating alone."

::::::::::::::::::::::::::: TODAY'S RECIPE ::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Wrapping up our "15-Minute Dishes" theme we have this quick and easy
salad dressing. This will keep refrigerated for several weeks, so go
ahead and make a quadruple batch and store it for future use.

Oriental-Style Salad Dressing

3 Tbs (45 ml) soy sauce
2 Tbs (30 ml) water
1 Tbs (15 ml) sherry (optional)
2 tsp (10 ml) sesame oil
1 tsp (5 ml) ground ginger
Freshly ground pepper to taste

Whisk together all ingredients. Will keep refrigerated for several
weeks. Makes about 1/2 cup (125 ml) to serve 4 to 6.
