Reader Stephen Sapp says about today's true food funny, "This was sent
to me by a friend to whom I sent the story about the "toothpick in the
center of the cake."

My law school roommate (now a partner at a major Miami firm) and I
found a recipe for homemade "Bailey's Irish Cream Liqueur." The
recipe called for a can of condensed milk, a certain kind of liquor, a
number of clean, uncracked eggs, cream, etc. While at school one
night, my roommate called and announced that he had made a batch of
Bailey's. I grabbed a few friends and brought them home with me to
have a nightcap. We poured glasses and it tasted good, but it had a
little bit of a crunchy texture that was weird. My roommate thought
"uncracked eggs" meant just that...and he had dropped 6 eggs, shell
and all, in the blender to make the blend. . Adding insult to injury
as only a college student can, there was no way we were going to throw
out perfectly good pretend-Bailey's (not enough discretionary income
back then); so we took a pair of my pantyhose (clean, of course) and
strained it!

Here is a fun recipe that the kids can make for Easter Dinner, and
they will have as much fun eating it as they had preparing it.

Easter Bunny Salad - A Recipe for Kids

For each serving:

Shredded lettuce
1/2 canned pear, drained
2 almonds
2 raisins
1/2 Maraschino cherry
1 Marshmallow

Make a bed of lettuce on each plate and place 1/2 pear, the round side
up, in the center of each bed of lettuce. Insert 2 almonds in the
narrow end of the pear for the ears. Place the raisins to represent
the eyes, and the half cherry to represent the nose. Place the
marshmallow to one side to represent the tail. Serves 1.
