"A Door Opens"

In 1981 my two year old daughter of was diagnosed
with cancer. Her daddy and I were already leaning
towards a divorce and we played the cards we were
dealt. My precious daughter was admitted to the
hospital and within 2 months she was gone. The
tumor in her brain had spread.

One person who stood out in my mind and heart, while
I was clinging to what little hope we had, was my
daughter's nurse Jim. I had not known too many male
nurses in my time, but this fella was special. He cared
for my daughter with kindness and caring that went far
beyond my dreams. He and I even held hands over her
and prayed... tears streaming down our cheeks!

When she passed away and I had to leave the hospital,
Jim promised to call and "keep in touch." I barely
remembered the days to follow... the marriage I was
talking about ended in divorce, which was a good thing.
Jim called several times and spoke to my mom about
how I was doing. One day he asked to come up and
visit me for lunch. I accepted.

He came to my mom's house with his acoustic guitar
and played for me by her pool. I thought this was cute
and he actually made me smile again... well that was
16 years ago! We got married in 1982 and we have 3
beautiful children as a result of our love. Our youngest
son who is 7 has some health problems, but I do believe
G~d does give you what you can handle. My little boy had
a brain tumor, actually in the same spot as his older
sister's, but his was benign! He has other medical
problems, but he is here... a miracle.

G~d does listen and answer our prayers... you know that
door they talk about that is supposed to open ever time
another one closes... well, it exists... I know, because
I walked through it!
