Everyone should have several chili recipes up their sleeve. Put this
easy-to-assemble version together in the morning and by the time the
evening chill sets in you'll be sitting down to steaming bowls of spicy
chili.
Slow Cooker Hearty Beef & Bean Chili
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep Time: 15 min. Cook Time: 8 hr.
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's(R) Condensed Tomato Soup
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
1/2 cup water
2 cans (about 15 ounces each ) red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup chili powder
2 tsp. ground cumin
Directions:
Cook the beef in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until well
browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
Stir the beef, onion, garlic, soup, tomatoes, water, beans, chili powder
and cumin in a 3 1/2-quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours.*
*Or on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with slices of cornbread and a romaine salad
tossed with fresh chopped basil and chives and Italian salad dressing.
For dessert serve caramel or vanilla flan.
