favorite dinner dish.
Hearty Lasagna
from Campbell's Kitchen
Prep Time: 30 min. - Bake Time: 30 min. - Stand Time: 10 min.
3 cups ricotta cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 eggs
1 lb. ground beef
1 jar (48 oz.) Prego(R) Traditional Pasta Sauce (5 cups)
12 cooked lasagna noodles
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
MIX ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and eggs.
COOK beef in saucepan until browned. Pour off fat. Stir in pasta sauce.
SPREAD 1 cup beef mixture in each of 2 2-qt. shallow baking dishes.
Top each with 2 lasagna noodles and 1 cup ricotta cheese mixture.
Repeat layers. Top each with 2 lasagna noodles, remaining beef mixture
and Parmesan cheese.
BAKE at 400°F. for 30 min. or until hot. Let stand 10 min. Serves 12.
To freeze, prepare lasagna but do not bake . Cover tightly with foil
and freeze. Bake frozen lasagna uncovered at 350°F. for 1 hr. 15 min.
or until hot. Or , refrigerate 24 hr. to thaw. Bake thawed lasagna
uncovered at 350°F. for 50 min. or until hot. Let stand 10 min.
Kitchen Clip:
For extra zing, substitute Italian sausage for ground beef, if desired.
