Pace Picante Beef & Beans

Savory, Southwestern flavors from this stovetop supper will tempt the family to the table.

Pace Picante Beef & Beans
from Campbell's Kitchen

Prep Time: 10 min. - Cook Time: 20 min.

2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 lb. boneless beef sirloin, cut into 1" cubes
1 tbsp. chili powder
3/4 cup Pace(R) Picante Sauce
1 can (about 16 oz.) black beans
1 can (about 15 oz.) pinto beans
1 can (14 1/2 oz.) stewed tomatoes

Directions:
 MIX cornstarch and water until smooth. Set aside.
 HEAT oil in saucepot. Add beef and chili powder and cook until beef is browned, stirring often.
 ADD picante sauce, black beans, pinto beans and tomatoes. Heat to a boil. Cover and cook over low heat 5 min. or until beef is done.
 STIR cornstarch mixture and add. Cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly. Serves 6.

Kitchen Clip:
Use the cubed sirloin called for in the recipe, or substitute coarse-ground beef sirloin, sometimes called "chili beef".
